Explanation of Shows and Show Titles

Explanation of Show Titles:

  • Sieger Shows- Shows based on the correct look and show quality of a dog.
    • Sieger Titles:
      • VA:  Top of Show. Ranked 1- 10, one being the best. VA dogs were the top of their breed in the show and only a few dogs are given this title in the country and it is only awarded at the national level.
      • V: The second class rank in Seiger. Not as good as VA but still means that the dog is a top dog in the show.
      • SG: The third tier in Sieger shows. Offered to a dog under V and Va, but for dogs under the age of 24 months, SG is the highest ranking that is offered them.

  • Schutzhund Shows and Training- Based on the ability of the dog to work and provide protection, obedience, and tracking.
    • Schutzhund Ranking:
      • SchH: title awarded to dogs for their ability to offer the three characteristics of Schutzhund and is earned only once by each dog. It is ranked from 1-3 with 1 being the best.
      • IP or IPO: Equivilent to SchH, but is an international award. IPO is different from SchH3 because it is ranked 3-1 with 3 being the best, e.g. a dog must earn an IPO1 before an IPO2 will be awarded and the same for IPO3. An IPO3 is the equivalent of an SchH1
      • FH: Awarded to dogs based on their trailing skills.
      • FH2: Offered at a higher level show and is more prestigious than FH1
      • FH3: Officered at a higher level show than FH2
